Senior Athletic Director Thank You Dinner Has Great Turnout

UW Athletic Director Barry Alvarez and the National W Club welcomed over 75 graduating senior student-athletes to a dinner reception in Heritage Hall to say thank you for their hard work, dedication, and tremendous accomplishments while competing for the University of Wisconsin. Joining the senior student-athletes were several coaches and athletic department administration. This event replaced the event formerly put on by the National W Club called Senior Steak Fry.

Coach Alvarez shared with the seniors how thankful he was of their efforts on the field of competition in addition to in the classroom. He told the seniors it was his hope, that if they could go back and be recruited all over again that they would choose to be a Badger again. Following Coach Alvarez’s address, National W Club Executive Director Terry Murawski shared with the seniors that they would be receiving their first year following graduation membership into the National W Club complimentary. Murawski shared all the benefits of staying connected with the W Club as they pursue the next chapter of their lives. W Club President, Kristi Austin (Basketball, 1977) also shared her congratulations on the seniors’ upcoming graduation as well as a thank you for keeping the great tradition of Wisconsin Athletics.
