Rose Bowl Teams Celebrate Anniversaries

The 1959 Big Ten Champions & 1960 Rose Bowl team and the 1999 Big Ten & 2000 Rose Bowl Team celebrated 50 and 10 year anniversaries over W Club weekend. A reception was held following the National W Club Annual Banquet at the Madison Monona Terrace on Friday, November 13. Twenty-Five team members from the ’59 team and over 75 team members from the ’99 team attended the reception. Coach Barry Alvarez addressed his former players and shared memories of their special season. 1999 Heisman Trophy Winner Ron Dayne attended the festivities.

On Saturday, November 14, reunion participants joined Badger fans at the Chili Kickoff tailgate party in the Field House before the game. Both teams were introduced during the UW vs. Michigan game and received standing ovations.
