The University of Wisconsin-Madison welcomed its 19th class into the Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, September 4, 2009. With the induction of five athletes, one coach, and one distinguished service member, the Hall of Fame now consists of 171 Badger greats. The class of 2009 included: Thornton Kipper (Baseball, 1950), Robin Threatt (Basketball, 1993), Wayne Esser (Mendota Gridiron), Clare Eichner (Track and Cross Country, 1993), Ron Dayne (Football, 1999), Bill Reddan (Men’s Soccer Coach), and Joe Panos (Football, 1993).

Over 400 people attended the induction ceremony on the Ray Kubly Hall of Fame Plaza. During the UW football game vs. Northern Illinois, the 2009 class was honored during a halftime program.
